Professor Dr. Kazi Md. Ferdous, Vice Chancellor of King Fahad Institute of Science & Technology is inaugurating DMA-KFIST Tech Center to familiarize students of Computer Science and Engineering Department of KFIST with the evolving trends in technology and enhance the quality and excellence of practical education. DMA Managing Director Hasan Rahman, Rahim Afroz CEO Kamrul Islam, and Intellier Advisor Md. Shafiqul Islam are next to him. To familiarize students of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of KFIST with the evolving trends of technology and to enhance the quality and excellence of practical education DMA-KFIST Tech Center has been inaugurated at King Fahad Institute of Science & Technology. The center was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Kazi Md. Ferdous, at the university’s Innovation Lab today on October 21. The inauguration ceremony was virtually addressed by Prof. Dr. N M Kiron, Chairman, Board of Governors of King Fahad Institue of Science & Technology and DMA Chairman Mahabub Zaman.

KFIST hosted ‘Nabanno e Bangaliyana,’ a vibrant celebration of rural culture and the rich heritage of Bengal. The highlight of the event was an inter-university folk competition featuring participants from eight (8) universities. The program, organized by KFIST’s Cultural club, took place on October 20 at the university’s campus in Dhanmondi,Dhaka. The Treasurer of KFIST graced the event as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Prof. Dr. Md. Bellal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Liza Wazed, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Also present were Assistant Professor and Director (In-Charge) of Student Affairs Khalid Bin Walid, alongside the club’s conveners and members.

World-renowned geneticist Sir Walter Bodmer, PhD, FRCPath, FRS, Emeritus Professor at the University of Oxford is delivering keynote presentation on “Human Genome, Cancer, and Immunotherapy” at King Fahad Institute of Science & Technology organized by Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of KFIST.

KFIST joined the biggest onsite programming contest in ICPC Dhaka Regional 2025.

Nusrat Jahan Trisa, student of the Department of English, KFIST and active member of KFIST Rover Scout Group joined the 𝟐𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚-𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐀𝐏𝐒𝐂) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 as one of the five selected delegates from Bangladesh which was held in Taiwan from 6–9 October 2025. The event gathers delegates from 27 different countries to exchanging ideas, sharing scopes among and perspectives of Bangladesh Scouts among diverse cultures. It also includes educational tours, cultural exchanges, and sessions on global understanding of Scouting and youth leadership.
